Baek Jong-keon

Baek Jong-keon, a Jehovah's Witness, is currently appealing against a conviction for refusing to undertake military service.The Seoul Central District Court found Baek guilty on 2 June 2011 and sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment. He has appealed and his case is now pending in the Appeal Division of the court. Baek is a lawyer, and if he is imprisoned, inaddition to the prison term his license to practice law will be suspended for five years.
