Jatupat “Pai” Boonpattararaksa

Jatupat Boonpattararaksa, also known by his nickname “Pai” (meaning “bamboo” in Thai) or “Pai Daodin”, is a law student at Khon Kaen University, in Northeast Thailand, as well as a human rights defender and pro-democracy activist. He has become well-known for his peaceful public activism to uphold and defend political and civil rights following a military coup in Thailand in May 2014, in the face of judicial harassment by authorities.
