Mordechai Vanunu
Israel, besetzte Gebiete
Mordechai Vanunu is an anti-nuclear whistleblower who has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment for refusing to abide by arbitrary restrictions imposed on him by the Israeli military. He was released in 2004 after serving 18 years in jail for revealing details of Israel's nuclear program, and since then he has been forbidden from communicating with foreigners or leaving the country. The restrictions violate Mordechai Vanunu's human rights, notably his right to freedom of expression, association and movement. He is currently free on bail pending his appeal against his conviction and sentence. These restrictions must be lifted, and his sentence dropped.
