Human rights activist Munir (his full name is Munir Said Thalib, but he is known only as Munir in Indonesia) was found deadon a Garuda Airlines flight from Jakarta to the Netherlands on 7 September 2004. An autopsy carried out by the Dutchauthorities showed that he had been poisoned with arsenic.
