Salah al-‘Arouri

Saleh Mohammed Suleiman al-‘Arouri was forced into exile by the Israeli authorities on 30 March 2010. Over the previous two decades, he had received 20 administrative detention orders and two prison sentences; he spent more than nine years in detention without charge or trial, before he was released in March 2010 in a deal which saw him forcibly deported from his home in the West Bank to Syria for a minimum of three years.
