Salidzhon Abdurakhmanov

Prisoner of conscience Salidzhon Abdurakhmanov was detained and later charged with possessing illegal drugs on 7 June 2008. Members of his family and his supporters believe that the charge was fabricated in order to punish him for his workas a human rights defender and journalist. He was convicted and sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment following an unfair trial in September 2008.
